Life at ISL – What have we been up to?

A glance at ISL’s last 3 months…

Well haven’t the last few months just flown by! Before we fully enter the festive season (some of us are already too excited), we thought it would be good to have a look back on what we’ve been up to since the end of summer and share it with all of you!

So, where do we start? Well, since summer, we have had lots to shout about, from team incentives and participation in national fundraising events to featuring in several magazines, being shortlisted for multiple business awards, and launching our ‘Perfect Candidates Travels the World’ campaign!

Super Incentive – Monte Carlo

So let’s kick things off with the 8 lucky people who made it to Monte Carlo this September!

Aisl recruitment monaco monte carlo incentive s part of our annual ‘super-incentive’ our 5 top performing consultants, top support and 2 Directors jetted off for a glorious 3 days in beautiful Monaco! Day 1 consisted of everyone enjoying their first helicopter ride over the French Riviera and dining at Nobu Restaurant. Day 2 was a jam-packed day where everyone got to enjoy their first ride in a Lamborghini and Ferrari, before heading off to a beach party at Nikki Beach Club. Their final day was spent relaxing on a miniature yacht and eating at Café de Paris! Our well deserving consultants made some amazing memories on this trip and we are sure that this will be a hard trip to beat for next year’s super-incentive!

The Simply Health Bristol Great Run

September was a busy month for us all here at ISL, within days of landing home from Monaco, some of our consultants had to get their running shoes on a start preparing for the Simply Health Bristol Great Run! 7 of our team took part in the Bristol half marathon this year and our boys even won an award for Best Small Business Entry – Male Runner’s Up. Well done chaps! The team, our Director included, did a tremendous job and managed to raise over £2,734.50 for CLIC Sargent, Brain Injury Matters, and Cancer Research!

This year we have been shortlisted for a range of awards including the Drum Recruitment Business Awards, Wylde IA’s Happiest Workplace Competition and the Recruiter’s Investing in Talent Awards 2017! Three of our team travelled up to Manchester’s Midland Hotel for the Drum Awards in September and enjoyed a night of celebrating with businesses from all over the UK including Pizza Hut, Total Jobs, Pink Squid and Jupiter! More recently, 10 of us headed down to London’s ‘The Brewery’ for the Investing in Talent Awards, which were just as glamorous as they promised. We ranked in the top 3 companies in our category and have now just entered for the Great Places to Work Awards, which we won last year! We are hoping for success again, keep your fingers crossed for us!

Careers Fair

Last month we set ourselves up at the UWE Bristol ‘Meet the Employers’ Careers Fair and had the pleasure of meeting some great students and chatting with them about the opportunities we have here at ISL. We always host competitions at careers fairs and this year’s winners received a 43” LG HDTV and a £50 Gift Card!

Celebrating Our Mother to Be!

This month we bid our lovely Emma Hillier ‘goodbye for now’, as she left to begin her maternity leave. Emma is expecting a beautiful boy next month, and our Director is also awaiting the arrival of his second child. Both babies have the same due date of the 15th December so we are eagerly waiting to see who arrives first! We’ve also tried persuading them to choose our baby name suggestions but we’ve had no luck so far!

Magazine Features

We’ve recently been featured in the Recruiter Magazine as part of October’s “Last Word”, where our Director Alan discussed the ‘Rule of 40’ and the challenges associated with scaling up small businesses. To read this, click here.

Our Internal Recruiter Samantha also featured in the CIM’s Exchange offering her thoughts on marketing in SME’s and keeping up with major competitors. To read this article, click here.

Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning!

To raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, we hosted our very own coffee morning, bake-off and biscuit-dunking competition! The ISL biscuit dunking competition raised £175 and consisted of dunking a biscuit for as long as you dare and then eating it without it disintegrating or breaking. Any guesses at what the best performing biscuit was?

Princes’ Trust

Our Director and Internal Recruiter attended the Prince’s Trust event at Ashton Gate stadium last month and heard the many moving stories of some of the beneficiaries of the Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s trust is dedicated to creating brighter futures for young people, empowering them to get into jobs, education, and training. We will be attending their next event in Bristol this month and look forward to meeting more inspiring people and hearing them share their stories. To read more about the Prince’s Trust, click here.

Lunch Club

The top performers for this quarter who made it onto ‘Lunch Club’ were Amy M, Emma M, Danielle, Gareth, Mattie, Amy V and Tim! These lucky 7 went to Michelin starred restaurant Adelina Yard, in Bristol last week, as a reward for their success! Well done folks!

Perfect Candidate Travels the World!

As you may have seen from our Instagram, we have produced an ISL teddy, modelled on our real-life Grand National horse, Perfect Candidate. This teddy will be travelling around the world with the aim of being photographed as far away from Bristol as possible! A great way to finish off the last few months was hearing the good news that Jon, who joined ISL in 2014 as part of our Training Academy, has been promoted to Team Leader! Jon, a hard-working, tenacious and successful consultant, has worked his way from a Trainee (brand new to recruitment) through to Consultant, Desk Lead and now Team Leader!

Congratulations Jon on all your hard work, we look forward to seeing you grow and succeed in your new role!
